Tanya Prochazka is professor emerita of cello, chamber music, the University Symphony and Academy Strings orchestras at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
Originally from Australia, Tanya pursued her cello studies at the Conservatoire in Paris with Andre Navarra, at Indiana University with Janos Starker and her conducting studies with distinguished conductor John Hopkins. Her solo and chamber music career have taken her to all corners of the globe.
Tanya has recorded CDs for Atma and Arktos featuring French, American, English, Norwegian and Czech music. She made the world premier recording of the New Goldberg Variations by distinguished American composers.
